The Mid-Level I&C Supervisor oversees and executes instrumentation and control activities for food processing operations. This role ensures accurate functioning of critical sensors and automated systems, supports compliance, and leads a team of technicians in maintaining reliable and hygienic process control.
Manage the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of food-grade instruments including:
Flow, temperature, pressure, level, pH, and conductivity sensors.
Ensure proper installation and functioning of sanitary instrumentation compliant with 3A/EHEDG guidelines.
Work with PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for monitoring and control of process equipment.
Perform loop checking, I/O testing, and assist in programming or HMI screen modifications.
Ensure system uptime, resolve faults, and coordinate with automation vendors as needed.
Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and FDA regulations.
Maintain accurate records of calibration, preventive maintenance, and breakdowns in CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo).
Support internal and external audits, ensuring traceability of all instrumentation.
Supervise a team of junior technicians and allocate daily tasks.
Provide training on hygienic practices, safety protocols, and proper instrumentation handling.
Monitor work quality, enforce safety compliance, and provide performance feedback.
Coordinate instrumentation support during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning.
Review P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control logic for upgrades or expansions.
Collaborate with process, QA, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of food-grade instrumentation and hygienic control practices
Familiar with instrument loop diagrams, calibration procedures, and I/O testing
Working knowledge of automation platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider)
Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, control narratives, and functional specifications
Skilled in troubleshooting, team supervision, and regulatory compliance
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
4–6 years of relevant experience in I&C within food, dairy, FMCG, or pharmaceutical industries
Familiarity with CMMS systems and industry-specific instrumentation (e.g., Endress+Hauser, IFM, Rosemount)
Certification in instrument calibration or automation tools is a plus
