The Junior I&C Supervisor supports the day-to-day supervision of instrumentation and control systems within a food manufacturing facility. The role focuses on the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of critical process instrumentation, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while maintaining uptime of production equipment.
Assist in calibration, installation, and maintenance of food-grade sensors:
Temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH, conductivity, etc.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs for instrumentation systems.
Work with PLC/DCS-based control systems for troubleshooting and basic modifications.
Follow SOPs, work instructions, and GMP protocols specific to food manufacturing.
Ensure accurate recording of calibration and maintenance activities in CMMS or logbooks.
Assist in maintaining compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and FDA food safety regulations.
Respond promptly to instrumentation-related faults to minimize production interruptions.
Support commissioning activities for new instruments or modifications in control systems.
Collaborate with production and QA teams to resolve process deviations related to I&C systems.
Work under guidance of a senior I&C Supervisor to allocate tasks to technicians.
Monitor the execution of daily maintenance and calibration tasks.
Ensure safe working practices are followed during all I&C-related activities.
Develop working knowledge of food plant instrumentation systems (e.g., Endress+Hauser, IFM, Siemens, Yokogawa).
Learn basic PLC/HMI programming structure and signal loop diagnostics.
Support upgrade or integration projects involving automation systems.
Basic understanding of food-grade sensors and hygienic instrumentation
Familiarity with P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, and calibration tools
Eagerness to learn and grow within I&C and automation domains
Good teamwork, time management, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail, especially in compliance and documentation
Diploma / Bachelor’s in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar field
1–3 years of hands-on experience in I&C maintenance (preferably in food, pharma, or FMCG)
Exposure to automated control systems is an added advantage
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or ISO 22000 preferred
