Job Title: Human Resource Information Specialist

Job Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Information Specialist is a strategic role responsible for the advanced administration, optimization, and integration of the HR Information System (HRIS). This position leads efforts to ensure data integrity, drive system enhancements, and support the HR department’s operational and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, proven leadership in HRIS management, and a track record of implementing data-driven improvements that enhance HR efficiency and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall management and maintenance of the HRIS, ensuring high system reliability, security, and performance.
  • Develop long-term strategies for system enhancements and data management that align with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the collection, validation, and maintenance of HR data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data standards.
  • Design and implement advanced reporting solutions and dashboards to provide actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with IT, payroll, benefits, and other business units to integrate HRIS with external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system upgrades to streamline HR operations and support scalability.
  • Serve as the expert resource for HRIS functionalities, providing guidance, training, and technical support to HR staff and system users.
  • Lead change management initiatives during system upgrades or process changes to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Manage relationships with HRIS vendors, including coordinating system updates, troubleshooting complex issues, and evaluating new software solutions.
  • Oversee HRIS projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure the HRIS complies with all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal data governance standards.
  • Conduct periodic audits of HR data and system processes to mitigate risks and uphold data integrity.

  • Drive the evolution of HR technology to support long-term business objectives and improve overall HR performance.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and reporting to enable informed decision-making and continuous improvement in HR practices.
  • Enhance the efficiency of HR operations by integrating HRIS with other business systems and automating routine tasks.
  • Ensure effective utilization of HRIS through ongoing training, clear documentation, and responsive user support.
  • Maintain robust controls over HR data, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards while proactively managing potential risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., HRIS, PMP) are a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in HRIS management or a related HR technology role.
  • Proven track record in managing complex HR systems, integrations, and data analytics projects.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep technical expertise in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, ADP) and a strong understanding of data management best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on leveraging data for strategic improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support diverse user groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change through technology enhancements.
  • Relevant HRIS or project management certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PMP) are highly desirable.
