Job Title: Hospital Automation Specialist

Job Summary:

The Hospital Automation Specialist at the fresher level is responsible for assisting in the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of automation systems within a healthcare environment. This role involves learning to configure and support systems such as building automation, patient monitoring, and operational management platforms under the guidance of senior specialists. The position provides an opportunity to build foundational knowledge in healthcare automation technologies and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

System Implementation and Configuration:

  • Assist in the installation and configuration of hospital automation systems, including HVAC control, lighting systems, patient monitoring devices, and workflow management platforms.
  • Support initial testing and setup to ensure systems operate as per specifications.
  • Document installation activities and create basic operational manuals for end-users.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Support regular inspections of automation systems to ensure they function efficiently.
  • Assist in diagnosing minor issues in automated systems and performing basic troubleshooting.
  • Work with senior specialists to update and maintain system firmware and software.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Respond to basic user queries regarding system functionality and usage.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior team members or vendors for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Assist in tracking and documenting system incidents to improve response and reliability.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical staff, and facilities management, to support automation system integration.
  • Provide basic technical assistance and training to end-users for automated systems.

Learning and Development:

  • Build foundational knowledge of hospital automation systems, including building automation, operational management, and IoT devices.
  • Participate in workshops and training programs to develop technical skills and stay updated on industry standards.
  • Familiarize yourself with regulatory requirements for hospital automation systems, such as HIPAA and ISO 13485.

  • System Setup and Configuration: Assist in the implementation of automation systems across healthcare facilities.
  • Basic Troubleshooting: Provide initial support for system issues and escalate as needed.
  • Learning and Growth: Build technical and compliance knowledge through training and hands-on experience.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Basic understanding of automation technologies, such as IoT devices, building management systems (BMS), and patient monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts and system configuration.
  • Awareness of regulatory standards for hospital automation, such as HIPAA and ISO 13485.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Basic certifications in automation technologies or IT systems are advantageous.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required; internships or academic projects related to automation systems or healthcare technologies are beneficial.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Exposure to tools and platforms for building automation and hospital workflow systems.
  • Familiarity with basic diagnostic tools and software for system configuration and troubleshooting.
