The Senior HVAC Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing HVAC installation or maintenance operations across high-complexity commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. This role entails strategic coordination with internal and external stakeholders, deep technical supervision, and enforcing compliance with safety, quality, and contractual standards. The ideal candidate must bring a wealth of hands-on experience and leadership acumen to ensure systems are executed, maintained, and delivered to the highest standards.
Supervise complete HVAC installation life cycle: ducting, chilled water piping, refrigerant lines, insulation, and mounting of equipment (VRF/VRV, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, ventilation fans, etc.).
Ensure strict adherence to mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant codes (SMACNA, ASHRAE, ISHRAE).
Lead HVAC subcontractors and site teams, monitor manpower performance, and enforce productivity goals.
Coordinate with MEP services, civil, and structural teams to resolve conflicts and interface issues.
Conduct internal inspections, quality checks, and support project engineer in consultant/client walkthroughs.
Lead HVAC operation & maintenance activities in commercial towers, hospitals, malls, or industrial plants.
Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for HVAC equipment (chillers, pumps, DX units, AHUs, VRF/VRV systems).
Supervise HVAC technicians, diagnose complex faults, and authorize escalations for capital repair or system upgrades.
Oversee documentation: service logs, equipment history, energy performance logs, and vendor AMC tracking.
Ensure uptime targets and system availability KPIs are consistently met.
Leadership & Team Management: Mentor junior supervisors and technicians; manage daily toolbox talks, briefings, and work allocation.
Technical Expertise: Apply deep knowledge in troubleshooting, balancing, equipment configuration, duct pressure testing, and hydronic systems.
Project/Asset Coordination: Work closely with project engineers, design consultants, commissioning teams, and vendors.
Quality Assurance: Enforce compliance with technical standards and inspection protocols.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure site and system safety, implement lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), confined space protocols, and emergency response plans.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.
8–12+ years of HVAC experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior supervisory role.
Strong familiarity with HVAC codes and international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISHRAE, IGBC/LEED).
Hands-on knowledge of BMS-integrated systems and energy-efficient HVAC technologies.
Ability to read HVAC coordination drawings, schematic layouts, and system risers.
Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD mark-ups, and reporting tools (MS Project or equivalent).
Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate multi-discipline teams.
