The Mid-Level HVAC Supervisor is responsible for supervising the execution of HVAC installation or maintenance works across commercial, residential, or industrial settings. The role involves managing field teams, coordinating with cross-functional departments, ensuring technical compliance, enforcing safety standards, and delivering work within quality and timeline expectations. The candidate must have hands-on experience and be capable of independently managing day-to-day HVAC operations on site or at a facility.
Lead HVAC installation works: ducting, piping (chilled water, refrigerant), insulation, and equipment setup (AHUs, FCUs, VRFs, chillers, ventilation fans).
Interpret and implement HVAC layouts, section drawings, and coordination plans.
Supervise subcontractors and skilled labor to ensure timely and quality installations.
Ensure HVAC installations meet project specifications and standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and ISHRAE.
Coordinate with electrical, civil, and plumbing teams to ensure system integration.
Oversee routine and reactive maintenance of HVAC systems including troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and verify completion through checklists.
Ensure upkeep and performance of HVAC components such as compressors, coils, blowers, controls, filters, thermostats, and duct systems.
Supervise technicians and ensure service documentation, maintenance logs, and work orders are accurately maintained.
Escalate recurring issues to engineering for root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
Technical Oversight: Provide skilled supervision and quality checks for all HVAC work.
Team Management: Guide and monitor HVAC technicians, ensure skill utilization, and plan shift schedules or daily tasks.
Quality Control: Ensure workmanship meets approved standards, with minimal rework or punch-list items.
Coordination & Reporting: Communicate with engineers, project teams, vendors, and other trades; prepare daily/weekly progress or maintenance reports.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce site and equipment safety protocols (lockout-tagout, confined space entry, etc.) and ensure proper PPE usage.
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, HVAC, or Building Services Engineering.
4–7 years of supervisory experience in HVAC installation or maintenance works.
Strong working knowledge of HVAC components and systems (VRF, split, chilled water, ventilation, ducting, BMS-controlled units).
Ability to interpret HVAC shop drawings, schematic diagrams, and material specifications.
Proficiency in maintaining records and generating site documentation or service reports.
Familiarity with HVAC safety procedures and HSE practices.
Good communication, team leadership, and organizational skills.
