The Senior HVAC Site Supervisor is responsible for managing all HVAC construction and installation activities at the project site. This includes supervising workforce, coordinating with various disciplines, ensuring technical compliance, monitoring project schedules, and enforcing quality and safety standards. The role demands a seasoned professional with hands-on experience in HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure developments, who can manage multiple stakeholders and ensure on-time delivery of HVAC works.
Oversee full-cycle execution of HVAC systems: ductwork, chilled water piping, VRF/VRV, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust and ventilation systems.
Lead site teams including HVAC foremen, technicians, fitters, welders, and subcontractors to ensure productivity and quality.
Verify that installations are carried out as per approved HVAC shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Interface with civil, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and ELV teams to resolve clashes and ensure smooth interdisciplinary coordination.
Conduct regular coordination meetings with site engineers and subcontractors to track progress and remove bottlenecks.
Liaise with consultants and project engineers for inspections, approvals, and compliance audits.
Monitor quality of HVAC works in accordance with international codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISHRAE).
Conduct inspections for duct leak testing, pressure testing of chilled water pipes, and installation of HVAC equipment.
Maintain and verify QA/QC checklists and ensure all works are completed as per specifications.
Track daily and weekly progress of HVAC activities against the construction schedule.
Prepare and submit daily site reports, inspection requests, manpower utilization logs, and material consumption updates.
Forecast labor and material needs to avoid downtime or delivery delays.
Enforce site safety protocols and ensure team adherence to HSE standards.
Report and mitigate site risks and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
Ensure correct use of PPE, lifting equipment, and compliance with safe work procedures during HVAC installation and testing.
Coordinate with commissioning teams to prepare systems for functional testing and balancing.
Ensure all HVAC systems are handed over defect-free with complete as-built documentation and checklists.
End-to-End Execution: From rough-in to final commissioning for HVAC systems on major projects.
Quality & Standards: Ensuring work meets industry norms (SMACNA, ASHRAE, LEED) and project-specific specs.
Team Leadership: Managing field personnel and subcontractors effectively to meet deadlines.
Interdisciplinary Interface: Collaborating with other services (MEP and Civil) to eliminate execution conflicts.
Site Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines at all times.
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.
Minimum 8–12 years of HVAC experience with at least 4 years in a senior supervisory role on large-scale construction projects.
Deep knowledge of HVAC system components, installation practices, and functional requirements.
Strong experience in managing subcontractors and workforce teams under high-pressure timelines.
Skilled in reading HVAC layouts, schematic diagrams, and interpreting technical documents.
Familiarity with project reporting tools, HSE compliance tracking, and inspection/audit processes.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
