Job Title: HVAC Service Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level HVAC Service Engineer to join our service team. In this role, you will work independently on complex service projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for professionals with a few years of industry experience looking to expand their technical expertise and assume greater responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning:

  • Oversee and execute HVAC system installations and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform detailed start-up procedures and performance testing to validate system functionality.
  • Provide technical support during system integrations and initial troubleshooting.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Lead routine preventive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and longevity.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC system malfunctions using advanced troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
  • Implement corrective measures and provide recommendations for system improvements based on performance data.

Customer Support & Collaboration:

  • Serve as a technical resource for field service teams and end-users, offering timely and effective solutions to service issues.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize system performance and implement best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive service reports and maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance and repair activities.

Project Coordination & Process Improvement:

  • Manage multiple service projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Identify trends and recurring issues in HVAC performance, and contribute to process improvements and preventive strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, sharing technical expertise and service best practices.

  • Technical Proficiency: Enhance HVAC system performance through effective troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair strategies.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high-quality service delivery and responsive technical support for end-users.
  • Process Optimization: Contribute to the development and refinement of service protocols to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Foster a collaborative work environment and mentor junior team members to build technical expertise.
  • Safety & Compliance: Uphold rigorous safety standards and ensure all activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in HVAC systems, thermodynamics, and energy management are advantageous.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record of managing service projects and resolving complex technical issues.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, service management software, and standard office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Basic safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) are an advantage.
  • Additional certifications in HVAC technology or related fields are beneficial but not required.
