The Mid-Level HVAC Production Supervisor is responsible for managing production operations across one or more assembly lines within an HVAC manufacturing facility. This role ensures that HVAC units and subassemblies are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and production targets. The supervisor leads daily shift operations, resolves process bottlenecks, supports continuous improvement, and mentors team members to meet organizational goals.
Supervise and coordinate all production activities on assigned HVAC manufacturing lines (e.g., air handlers, condensing units, heat pumps).
Ensure adherence to daily and weekly production schedules, adjusting labor and resources as needed.
Monitor production KPIs (output, takt time, first-pass yield) and drive performance improvements.
Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of technicians and assembly workers.
Deliver training on new procedures, equipment, and quality standards.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and specifications.
Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring quality issues.
Enforce workplace safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, equipment safety) and lead daily safety briefings.
Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the assembly process and collaborate with engineering to implement improvements.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, visual controls, kaizen, and waste reduction.
Coordinate with maintenance and tooling teams for preventive and corrective actions on equipment.
Conduct shift handovers and contribute to daily production meetings.
Maintain accurate shift production records, downtime logs, and operator feedback reports.
Communicate with quality, materials, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field (preferred)

4–7 years of experience in HVAC or mechanical product manufacturing
2+ years in a supervisory or lead role managing production personnel
Experience with lean manufacturing, safety protocols, and quality assurance practices
Solid understanding of HVAC unit assembly processes and components
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Familiarity with ERP systems and production tracking tools
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, OSHA, and EPA standards (e.g., refrigerant handling)
