Job Title: Mid-Level HVAC Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mid-Level HVAC Mechanic to join our facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will take on increased responsibility for installing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in HVAC maintenance, the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC System Installation & Commissioning:

• Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
• Collaborate with senior technicians during setup and testing to ensure optimal system performance.

Maintenance & Repairs:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of HVAC components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Execute repairs and replace defective components independently, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations during maintenance and repair activities.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in regular safety training sessions and audits to ensure a secure working environment.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
• Update maintenance logs and prepare reports on system performance and reliability.
• Document issues encountered and communicate corrective actions to supervisors and team members.

Team Collaboration & Professional Development:

• Mentor junior technicians by sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team to troubleshoot complex issues and improve maintenance processes.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with the latest HVAC technologies and practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in HVAC technology, refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
• A solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems related to HVAC operations.

Experience:

• 3-7 years of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on routine tasks and collaboratively on more complex projects.

Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Basic safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) are an advantage.
• Additional certifications in HVAC technology or related fields are beneficial.
