Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Summery

The Mid-Level Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality assurance and quality control of systems across various operations, including process control in drilling, refining, extraction, and pipeline management. This role involves implementing quality standards, managing testing protocols, and ensuring systems meet regulatory and safety requirements. The engineer will support cross-functional teams in maintaining the integrity of operations while adhering to environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Control in Drilling, Refining, and Extraction:

    • Ensure that process control systems used in drilling, refining, and extraction meet established quality standards.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to monitor and optimize system performance.
    • Conduct regular inspections, tests, and evaluations to maintain the reliability and accuracy of process control systems.
    • Collaborate with process engineers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in control systems.
  • SCADA Systems for Pipeline Management:

    • Manage the quality assurance of SCADA systems integrated with pipeline management, ensuring systems are optimized for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
    • Oversee the development and execution of quality testing for SCADA systems, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with the technical team to maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, ensuring they meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Safety and Emergency Shutdown Systems:

    • Lead quality assurance efforts for safety-critical systems, including safety and emergency shutdown systems.
    • Develop and implement testing procedures for emergency shutdown systems to ensure functionality in critical situations.
    • Work closely with safety engineers to ensure all systems meet global safety standards and are regularly tested for performance and compliance.
    • Conduct risk assessments and drive improvements for emergency shutdown system reliability.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure all quality control efforts are in alignment with environmental regulations and industry standards.
    • Participate in audits and inspections to verify compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to address any compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Prepare documentation and reports for regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and adherence to laws and standards.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Process Control in Drilling, Refining, and Extraction: Ensuring that process control systems used in these sectors meet quality standards and performance criteria through effective monitoring and optimization.
  • SCADA Systems for Pipeline Management: Managing the quality assurance of SCADA systems, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and meet safety standards for pipeline operations.
  • Safety and Emergency Shutdown Systems: Overseeing the quality of safety-critical systems, ensuring their functionality through rigorous testing, while working to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all quality control activities align with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, maintaining compliance through audits, inspections, and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, with a focus on process control, pipeline management, or safety systems within the oil and gas or industrial sectors.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of process control systems, SCADA, and emergency shutdown systems.
    • Experience with quality control methodologies, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
    • Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHA).
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and lead problem resolution in cross-functional teams.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance in all processes.

Other Requirement:

  • Certifications: Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) and safety standards (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are a plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in quality management software, SCADA systems, and related engineering tools.
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead quality assurance initiatives across teams.
