As a Senior Game Tester, you will lead the QA strategy for complex game systems and help scale testing efforts to match evolving production needs. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust coverage, drive quality at every stage of development, and mentor junior QA team members. This role is critical in maintaining technical and gameplay excellence across the product.
Define comprehensive test strategies, QA best practices, and ensure adequate test coverage across features, systems, and platforms.
Lead the planning and execution of QA deliverables across major development milestones and live updates.
Collaborate with producers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to assess risk and maintain product quality.
Mentor and support junior and mid-level QA testers; assist in onboarding and training.
Drive initiatives for test automation, tooling, and process optimization to increase test efficiency and coverage.
Oversee regression, performance, and compliance testing, ensuring stability across builds and platforms.
Provide feedback and insight on game quality, usability, and design from a QA perspective.
5+ years of professional experience in QA within the game or software industry.
Proven experience leading QA on one or more shipped titles or live service games.
Strong test planning, risk analysis, and documentation skills for complex gameplay systems.
Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, coaching, and team collaboration.
Proficiency with automation frameworks and scripting tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, or proprietary engines).
In-depth knowledge of game engines (such as Unreal Engine, Unity) and familiarity with live service QA workflows.
Understanding of development pipelines, build systems, and DevOps integration in QA environments.
Expert in bug tracking and test case management tools:
JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla, DevTrack, etc.
Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Postman, Unity Test Framework).
Skilled in using version control systems such as Perforce, Git, and working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.).
Proficiency with dev tools, debug consoles, and test harnesses within Unity, Unreal, or proprietary engines.
Familiarity with platform compliance and certification standards (e.g., TRC, Lotcheck, XR Requirements).
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with a collaborative mindset.
