Job Title: Game Tester/QA (Junior Level)

Summary:

As an Entry-Level Game Tester, you’ll be responsible for identifying and reporting bugs to ensure the quality and playability of game builds across platforms. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to break into the game industry and gain hands-on experience with quality assurance processes in a collaborative development environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test game builds across various platforms (PC, console, mobile) for functional bugs, visual issues, and performance problems.

  • Document and report bugs with clarity and accuracy using issue tracking tools.

  • Execute test plans and test cases under the direction of QA Leads or senior testers.

  • Perform regression testing to verify fixes for previously reported issues.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA team members to validate bug fixes and track issue resolution.

  • Provide feedback on gameplay quality, UI/UX, and overall player experience.

Requirements:

  • 0–1 year of professional QA or testing experience (internships, personal projects, or beta testing experience welcomed).

  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic understanding of game development processes and testing methodologies.

  • Familiarity with game consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo), PC platforms, and mobile OS (iOS/Android).

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to describe issues clearly.

Tools & Technical Skills:

  • Experience with or exposure to bug tracking and test management systems such as:

    • JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, or DevTrack

  • Familiarity with version control systems (basic use of Perforce, Git, or similar tools is a plus).

  • Basic knowledge of console dev kits, mobile testing tools, or PC hardware configurations.

  • Understanding of QA processes such as smoke testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing.

  • Ability to follow and execute structured test cases, as well as contribute to ad-hoc testing sessions.
