As a Senior Game Designer, you’ll drive complex systems design and mentor junior designers. You are responsible for delivering high-quality player experiences and balancing gameplay across large content areas. You will also influence the game’s creative direction while working closely with multiple disciplines.
Lead the design and tuning of major game systems such as combat, progression, and economy.
Mentor and review the work of junior and mid-level designers to foster growth and maintain quality.
Work cross-functionally with art, engineering, QA, and narrative teams to ensure consistency and quality.
Drive iterative design improvements based on player metrics, feedback, and playtesting results.
Contribute to the overall creative direction and vision of the game.
5–8 years of professional experience in game design.
Proven track record of shipped titles in a design leadership role.
Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of complex system design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
Advanced proficiency in game engines such as:
Unreal Engine (Blueprints, scripting, level design tools)
Unity (C# scripting, editor tools)
Experience with design and prototyping tools like Miro, Lucidchart, or Confluence.
Familiarity with analytics tools and telemetry platforms (e.g., GameAnalytics, Unity Analytics) to interpret player data.
Strong knowledge of version control systems such as Git, Perforce, or equivalent.
Comfortable using project and task management software like JIRA or Trello.
Leadership and mentorship: Able to inspire and guide junior team members.
Strategic thinking: Ability to align system design with overall game vision and player experience goals.
Collaboration: Proven success working in cross-disciplinary teams, fostering open communication and shared ownership.
Problem-solving: Skilled in identifying design challenges and iterating quickly based on player feedback and data.
