As a Junior Game Designer, you will support the design team in creating engaging game content and systems. This role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with limited industry experience but strong creative potential and a passion for game development. You’ll work closely with senior designers to contribute ideas, build prototypes, and help craft memorable gameplay experiences.
Assist in the creation of levels, mechanics, and gameplay features.
Create design documentation and simple prototypes to communicate ideas.
Participate in playtesting sessions and provide constructive feedback on game content.
Collaborate with artists, programmers, and other team members to iterate and improve designs.
Conduct competitive analysis and research to inform design decisions.
0–1 year of professional experience or relevant academic/indie projects.
Basic knowledge of game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
Understanding of game design fundamentals including gameplay loops, player flow, and level layout.
Strong communication skills and a proactive eagerness to learn.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Familiarity with at least one popular game engine:
Unity (preferably with basic C# scripting)
Unreal Engine (experience or willingness to learn Blueprints visual scripting)
Experience or willingness to learn visual scripting tools like Blueprints or Unity Visual Scripting.
Comfortable using design and prototyping tools such as Miro, Lucidchart, or Google Docs for flowcharts and documentation.
Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) is a plus.
Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools like JIRA or Trello is beneficial.
