Job Title: Flow Calibration Engineer
Job Summary:
The Flow Calibration Engineer (Fresher) is responsible for assisting in the calibration, testing, and maintenance of flow measurement devices such as flow meters, turbine meters, and ultrasonic flow sensors. This entry-level role focuses on developing foundational knowledge and skills in flow calibration under the supervision of senior engineers while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibration and Testing:
- Assist in calibrating flow measurement devices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Support the testing and verification of flow meters using standard calibration rigs and equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and precision during calibration activities.
Documentation:
- Record calibration data accurately and maintain detailed logs for compliance and future reference.
- Assist in preparing calibration certificates and test reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on calibration equipment such as flow rigs, master meters, and transfer standards.
- Identify and report abnormalities or performance issues in flow measurement devices.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to organizational safety protocols and industry standards during calibration and testing activities.
- Gain familiarity with relevant standards such as ISO 17025, OIML, and AGA guidelines.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior engineers and technicians to perform calibration tasks effectively.
- Participate in discussions and training sessions to enhance understanding of flow calibration methodologies.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of flow measurement principles and devices, such as differential pressure meters, turbine meters, and Coriolis flow meters.
- Familiarity with calibration tools and equipment, including master meters, flow rigs, and transfer standards, is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to identify common issues in flow measurement devices.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic training or certification in flow calibration or metrology is a plus but not mandatory.
Key Focus Areas:
- Avionics and Flight Control Systems: Assisting in the calibration of flow measurement systems used in avionics and flight control systems, ensuring accurate data for proper operation.
- Safety and Emergency Systems for Aircraft: Supporting the calibration of flow systems in safety and emergency systems, ensuring reliable performance during critical flight operations.
- Precision Instrumentation for Navigation, Communications, and Control: Assisting in the calibration of precision flow instrumentation used for navigation, communications, and control systems, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data transmission and system control.
- Testing and Documentation: Assisting in the testing, validation, and documentation of flow measurement systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and operational requirements.
Experience:
- No prior experience required; internships or academic projects related to flow measurement or calibration are beneficial.
Tools and Equipment:
- Basic calibration tools, including master meters, flow rigs, and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of calibration management software is an advantage.
