The Senior Flight Control Supervisor leads the integration, testing, and validation of complex flight control systems across multiple aerospace platforms. This role provides strategic oversight of installation operations, technical problem-solving, and compliance management while mentoring junior supervisors and technicians. The supervisor ensures that all control surface systems—mechanical and electronic—are integrated according to strict aerospace standards, project schedules, and safety protocols.
Program-Level Supervision:
Oversee end-to-end integration of primary (e.g., elevators, rudders, ailerons) and secondary (e.g., trim tabs, flaps) flight control systems across aircraft programs.
Technical Expertise & Quality Oversight:
Lead complex rigging operations, tolerance alignment, redundancy checks, and surface travel validation using precision tools and methods.
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and mentor a team of flight control technicians and mid-level supervisors. Set technical benchmarks, oversee task execution, and conduct skill assessments.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate closely with avionics, hydraulics, structural, and software teams to ensure seamless system-level integration and functional compatibility.
Issue Management & Troubleshooting:
Lead root cause analysis for rigging issues, control surface misalignment, sensor faults, or mechanical/electrical interface failures. Propose and implement corrective actions.
Regulatory & Process Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all relevant standards such as FAA Part 25, EASA CS-25, DO-160, AS9100, and internal quality and safety protocols.
Documentation & Reporting:
Approve and review installation records, rigging logs, technical deviations, redlined drawings, and contribute to airworthiness documentation.
Integration Planning:
Develop and execute detailed work plans and schedules for flight control integration phases, from installation through ground testing.
System Integrity and Safety:
Guarantee fault-free operation of mission-critical flight control systems under all operational scenarios.
Leadership & Workforce Optimization:
Develop high-performing teams, resolve skill gaps, and enforce a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Precision Engineering Execution:
Apply expert-level understanding of aircraft mechanics and system behavior to guide accurate installation and alignment.
Compliance and Certification Readiness:
Ensure all integration work is audit-ready and fully traceable for program certification and airworthiness.
Integration Innovation:
Introduce process improvements, tooling enhancements, and workflow strategies that improve reliability, speed, and safety of flight control installations.
