Job Title: Factory Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

The Factory Systems Engineer (Fresher) is responsible for providing support in the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems used in manufacturing environments. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to learn about factory automation, production systems, and the integration of various industrial technologies. The Factory Systems Engineer will work under the guidance of senior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, ensure system reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. System Support and Maintenance:

    • Assist in the setup, installation, and maintenance of factory systems, including automation, control systems, machinery, and manufacturing equipment.
    • Support the monitoring of system performance to ensure that production processes run efficiently and meet quality standards.
    • Help troubleshoot basic issues in factory systems, including hardware, software, and control systems, to minimize downtime.
  2. System Integration:

    • Assist in integrating various systems, such as SCADA, MES, PLC-controlled systems, and robots, to create cohesive factory operations.
    • Support the testing and commissioning of new systems and technologies that are being integrated into the factory environment.
    • Work with senior engineers to ensure smooth communication between different automation systems and the manufacturing equipment.
  3. Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Help collect and analyze data from factory systems to track performance, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvements.
    • Assist in generating reports based on system data and production metrics to assess operational efficiency and support decision-making processes.
    • Support the development of dashboards and performance monitoring tools for tracking system health and production goals.
  4. Quality and Process Optimization Support:

    • Support senior engineers in identifying process inefficiencies or system failures that affect product quality or production output.
    • Help implement corrective actions or improvements based on data analysis and feedback from the production team.
    • Learn about Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process optimization techniques to contribute to continuous improvement projects.
  5. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

    • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to address system issues and improve factory operations.
    • Provide basic technical support to operators and other factory personnel to ensure the smooth functioning of automated systems.
    • Assist in training factory workers on new technologies or systems as they are introduced into the production process.
  6. Learning and Development:

    • Gain hands-on experience with factory systems, automation technologies, and industrial equipment.
    • Participate in on-the-job training, workshops, and industry seminars to enhance your knowledge of manufacturing systems and technology.
    • Continuously update skills and knowledge on the latest advancements in factory automation, control systems, and data analysis tools.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing systems, automation technologies, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, MES, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn about data analysis and process optimization techniques.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail when identifying system issues or performance gaps.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in the field of factory systems engineering and automation.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Any relevant certifications in automation systems, PLC programming, or factory automation are advantageous.

Experience:

  • No prior full-time experience required; internships, academic projects, or hands-on training in factory systems, automation, or related fields are beneficial.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, automated systems, or industrial control systems through academic coursework or personal projects is a plus.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Exposure to PLC programming software (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems such as SCADA, MES, HMI is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of data collection tools, performance monitoring software, and diagnostic equipment used in industrial settings.
