The Fabrication Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing the fabrication processes within our manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong technical background in engineering principles, materials science, and fabrication techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled fabricators, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Fabrication Engineer will also collaborate with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the fabrication engineering team
Oversee the design and development of fabrication processes
Ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical drawings and blueprints
Manage fabrication tasks such as cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
Conduct thorough quality inspections and ensure high standards
Develop and enforce safety procedures
Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the engineering team
Collaborate with other departments to enhance fabrication processes
Prepare and submit reports on work progress and team performance
