The FAT/SAT Test Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities related to instrumentation and control systems. This includes ensuring proper functionality, calibration, integration, and documentation of all I&C equipment before system handover. The role involves supervising field technicians and junior engineers to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality protocols.
Supervise FAT and SAT activities for PLC/DCS systems, field instruments, control panels, and automation interfaces.
Oversee I/O checks, loop testing, signal verification, interlock testing, and control logic validation.
Review and execute test plans, procedures, and checklists in alignment with client specifications and QA/QC standards.
Assign daily tasks to testing teams and ensure timely execution of test programs.
Coordinate with vendors, system integrators, construction, and commissioning teams.
Identify issues during testing and lead troubleshooting efforts with technical teams.
Verify and approve test reports, calibration certificates, punch lists, and redlined documents.
Enforce compliance with safety procedures during test activities, including LOTO, PTW, and confined space protocols.
Provide input to final acceptance documentation and support system handover to operations.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in testing techniques and best practices.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
5–8 years of experience in FAT/SAT testing and commissioning of I&C systems, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
Hands-on experience with field instruments, control valves, PLC/DCS logic, and automation platforms
Familiarity with QA/QC systems, loop folder documentation, and testing standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API)
Experience in working with EPC contractors and third-party inspections preferred
Strong supervisory and task coordination skills
Deep technical understanding of instrumentation and automation systems
Clear documentation and reporting capabilities
Effective communication with cross-functional and multicultural teams
Strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule compliance
