Job Summary:

The Senior FAT/SAT Test Engineer – I&C Systems is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, execution, and technical validation of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for complex control systems and field instrumentation. The role ensures full compliance with client specifications, project requirements, and international standards before systems are commissioned or handed over to operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage FAT/SAT test planning, execution, and documentation for all I&C systems, including PLC/DCS panels, RTUs, transmitters, actuators, and field instruments.

  • Review and approve test procedures, ITPs, loop diagrams, and control logic as part of pre-test readiness and client engagement.

  • Coordinate with engineering, commissioning, QA/QC, operations, and vendors to ensure test alignment with project schedules.

  • Oversee I/O mapping, loop checking, functional testing, interlock verification, and logic sequence validation.

  • Manage onsite technical teams and mentor junior engineers during test execution.

  • Identify and resolve issues related to configuration errors, signal mismatches, or device failures during testing phases.

  • Ensure documentation of all test results, NCRs, punch items, and corrective actions with traceable closure.

  • Interface with clients and third-party inspectors to obtain formal sign-off and acceptance.

  • Support audits, performance validation, and final handover reporting.

  • Maintain compliance with ISA, IEC, API, and project-specific standards for instrumentation and automation systems.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering

  • 8–12 years of experience in FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, or QA-QC of I&C systems

  • Deep knowledge of automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa) and communication protocols (Modbus, HART, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus)

  • Proven experience managing test teams and client-facing test acceptance in large EPC or infrastructure projects

  • Familiar with project QA/QC workflows, inspection reporting, and documentation standards (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025)


Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of instrumentation testing, automation systems, and commissioning procedures

  • Leadership in test planning, execution, and multi-vendor coordination

  • Strong documentation, report writing, and client communication skills

  • High-level troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and technical resolution capabilities

  • Excellent understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance
