The Executive Program Manager โ Strategic Sourcing for Mechanical Assets will lead the end-to-end sourcing strategy and execution for high-value mechanical assets, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, and operations. This role is responsible for managing complex sourcing programs for equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, pressure vessels, and piping systems, focusing on lifecycle cost optimization, supply chain resilience, and supplier performance.
The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives across multiple business units and capital projects while ensuring technical and commercial excellence in all mechanical asset procurement activities.
Develop and lead enterprise-wide sourcing programs for critical mechanical assets and systems.
Ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with project objectives, long-term asset management plans, and capital investment timelines.
Act as the single point of accountability for multi-project or cross-regional mechanical sourcing initiatives.
Oversee sourcing and supplier management for:
Rotating equipment: pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers
Static equipment: pressure vessels, heat exchangers, filters
Piping systems: pipes, valves, fittings, gaskets, skid-mounted systems
Define category strategies, develop cost models, and implement standardization and specification harmonization programs.
Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and performance monitoring for mechanical equipment providers.
Drive supplier development, qualification, and innovation, with a focus on long-term partnerships.
Monitor market trends and identify global sourcing opportunities, including localization or dual sourcing initiatives.
Work closely with engineering, operations, reliability, and project teams to ensure technical specifications align with sourcing capabilities.
Facilitate value engineering (VE) and design-to-cost (DTC) programs to reduce total cost of ownership.
Ensure early supplier involvement in the design and equipment selection stages.
Implement sourcing program governance frameworks, track program milestones, and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate sourcing risks related to supply continuity, quality, delivery, and compliance.
Develop and maintain a mechanical asset sourcing dashboard for real-time visibility of sourcing status across all projects.
Lead development of Master Framework Agreements (MFAs), strategic supplier alliances, and long-term pricing arrangements.
Ensure compliance with legal, safety, quality, and ESG standards across all contracts and transactions.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including global suppliers, engineering partners, EPCs, and C-suite leadership.
Mentor cross-functional teams and promote a center of excellence in mechanical sourcing across the organization.
Lead periodic sourcing reviews, supplier summits, and executive steering committees.
Bachelorโs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management (Required)
Masterโs degree, MBA, or equivalent in Engineering Management or Procurement Strategy (Preferred)
Minimum 15 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or project supply chain roles involving mechanical equipment
At least 5โ7 years in senior program or category management roles, ideally in asset-heavy industries such as oil & gas, energy, power generation, or EPC projects
Strong technical knowledge of rotating/static equipment and piping systems
Proven ability to lead multi-region sourcing programs and manage complex supplier ecosystems
Expertise in contract negotiation, cost modeling, and sourcing analytics
Familiarity with engineering standards (API, ASME, ISO, ANSI)
Proficiency in sourcing tools (SAP, Ariba, Coupa, SRM platforms) and program management systems (Primavera, MS Project, etc.)
