The Executive Program Manager – Marine Manufacturing and Assembly Operations is responsible for leading and delivering complex shipbuilding and marine system integration programs from concept to completion. This senior-level role oversees all aspects of manufacturing, structural assembly, module integration, and outfitting operations, ensuring cost-effective, on-schedule delivery that meets quality, regulatory, and client standards. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, production, procurement, QA/QC, and customer stakeholders.
Lead the end-to-end execution of marine vessel manufacturing and assembly programs (e.g., naval, offshore, or commercial vessels).
Develop integrated program plans covering schedules, resource allocation, budgets, risk management, and quality assurance.
Drive production readiness, overseeing structural assembly, block integration, outfitting, and testing activities.
Manage cross-functional teams including engineering, fabrication, welding, mechanical installation, and commissioning personnel.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal leadership, clients, classification societies, and regulatory authorities.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, schedule adherence, quality, and safety.
Lead regular program reviews, status reports, and risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ABS, DNV, IMO, USCG, ISO 9001, etc.).
Support supply chain coordination, materials availability, and contractor/vendor performance.
Foster continuous improvement in lean manufacturing, modular assembly, and digital project execution tools.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
12+ years of experience in shipbuilding or large-scale marine system manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior program or operations management role.
Proven success delivering large, multi-phase marine construction or assembly projects.
In-depth understanding of structural assembly, module integration, outfitting, and marine systems installation.
Strong knowledge of shipyard processes, planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), and manufacturing operations.
Effective leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with naval/military shipbuilding programs is a strong advantage.
PMP® or PgMP® certification.
Experience in managing shipyard transformation initiatives or implementing advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., robotics, digital twins).
Familiarity with ERP and production control systems (SAP, IFS, etc.).
Combination of office, production floor, and shipyard environments.
Frequent interaction with fabrication teams, supervisors, and client representatives.
Travel may be required between sites or to support major review meetings and commissioning events.
Must adhere to safety and operational compliance requirements in industrial environments.
