Job Summary:

We are seeking a forward-thinking and technically accomplished Executive Director – Control Systems and Digital Operations to lead the strategic integration of automation, control systems, and digital technologies across our global operations. This executive role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, safety, and innovation through the adoption of advanced control platforms, real-time analytics, digital twins, and industrial IoT (IIoT). The ideal candidate will combine deep domain expertise with business acumen to lead transformational initiatives in both greenfield and brownfield environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the enterprise-wide strategy for control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS) and digital operations platforms.

  • Oversee architecture design, standardization, and modernization of all control systems infrastructure across assets.

  • Drive the implementation of digital solutions such as predictive analytics, condition monitoring, digital twins, and centralized control rooms.

  • Champion cybersecurity initiatives for OT/ICS systems in alignment with ISA/IEC 62443 and company policies.

  • Ensure functional safety compliance and lead SIL lifecycle management in accordance with IEC 61511.

  • Collaborate with operations, IT, engineering, and HSE teams to align digital tools with operational KPIs.

  • Lead vendor selection, contract management, and technology partnerships across control systems and digital platforms.

  • Support capital project development by overseeing the automation and control systems scope in FEED, EPC, and commissioning stages.

  • Build and manage a high-performance global team of control systems engineers, digital analysts, and automation professionals.

  • Monitor emerging technologies and trends to maintain industry leadership and drive innovation roadmaps.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Control Systems, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering; MBA or PhD preferred

  • 18+ years of progressive experience in control systems, automation, and digital operations, with 5+ years in a senior leadership or director-level role

  • Proven expertise in managing complex control system architectures across large-scale industrial facilities

  • Strong understanding of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and SIS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB)

  • Demonstrated experience in digital transformation programs, including IIoT, digital twins, and AI/ML applications in operations

  • Functional Safety certification (e.g., TÜV) and knowledge of international engineering codes and standards

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination skills
