Job Title: Equipment Operator
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Equipment Operator (Water Plants) – Fresher Level to join our team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in water treatment and plant operations. As a fresher, you will be trained in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of equipment in a water treatment plant. You will work under the guidance of experienced operators, gaining hands-on experience while ensuring safe, efficient, and effective plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating Plant Equipment:
- Learn to operate and monitor equipment used in the water treatment process, such as pumps, motors, valves, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
- Assist senior operators in performing routine operations, such as adjusting equipment settings, starting up and shutting down systems, and regulating water flow rates.
- Monitor the performance of equipment, reporting any malfunctions or irregularities to senior operators or plant supervisors.
Routine Maintenance and Inspections:
- Assist in performing daily inspections of plant equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly and safely.
- Help in the cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of plant equipment to keep it in good working condition.
- Ensure that all operational parameters, such as pressure, temperature, and flow rates, are within the desired ranges and report deviations.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Learn to operate control panels and instrumentation to monitor water treatment processes, ensuring that water quality standards are maintained.
- Record operational data and maintain logs of equipment performance, including maintenance schedules and any issues or abnormalities observed.
- Assist in compiling daily, weekly, or monthly reports on water treatment processes, equipment status, and other relevant data.
Assisting with Troubleshooting:
- Assist senior operators in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or process issues.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and assist with repairs or adjustments under supervision.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities by following standard operating procedures and using appropriate safety practices.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures when operating equipment or handling chemicals in the water treatment plant.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and plant operating guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Learning and Development:
- Participate in on-the-job training programs, learning from experienced operators and supervisors about water treatment processes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Take part in safety training, equipment handling training, and plant-specific operational procedures.
- Gradually increase responsibility as you gain experience and become more proficient in plant operations.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in water treatment, environmental science, or industrial operations is a plus.
- Any certifications related to equipment operation, safety, or water treatment are beneficial but not required.
Experience:
- No prior experience required. This is an entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in plant operations or equipment handling.
- Any practical experience through internships, workshops, or technical training related to equipment operation, mechanical systems, or water treatment is beneficial.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
- Strong interest in learning about water treatment processes and equipment operation.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks quickly.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor and report on operational parameters.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Basic safety certifications such as OSHA or similar.
- First aid, CPR, or other emergency response certifications.
- Any relevant certifications in equipment operation or water treatment.
