The mid-level Equipment Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technicians to plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems (HVAC, utilities, conveyors) and process equipment (pumps, mixers, heat exchangers). This role ensures optimal equipment reliability, enforces safety and quality standards, and drives continuous improvements in maintenance practices.
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Develop and review weekly/monthly maintenance plans in the CMMS based on equipment criticality and production schedules.
Coordinate shutdowns and turnarounds, balancing maintenance needs with operational uptime.
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and junior supervisors; conduct performance reviews and skills gap assessments.
Facilitate training on advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and new technologies.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Oversee implementation of vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and other condition-monitoring programs.
Validate and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) routes, work instructions, and frequencies.
Corrective & Emergency Response
Lead rapid response to equipment failures; apply structured troubleshooting and root-cause methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone).
Ensure spare-parts availability for critical assets and manage vendor/contractor support for complex repairs.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Track and report KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, planned vs. unplanned maintenance ratio, schedule compliance).
Drive reliability projects (bearing upgrades, alignment improvements, system retrofits) to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work, and other EHS protocols; lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
Ensure maintenance activities meet internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate equipment histories, maintenance logs, inspection records, and CMMS data integrity.
Prepare regular maintenance performance reviews and present findings to leadership.
