Job Title: Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Engineer
Job Summary:
The
Mid-Level Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Engineer is responsible for implementing and optimizing enhanced oil recovery techniques to maximize oil extraction from reservoirs. With a focus on EOR processes such as CO2 injection, water flooding, thermal recovery, and chemical flooding, this role involves overseeing the application of EOR technologies, providing technical expertise in field operations, and leading the design and analysis of reservoir models. The Mid-Level EOR Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure that EOR projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all operational and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

EOR Process Design and Optimization:
- Design, optimize, and implement enhanced oil recovery techniques, including CO2 injection, water flooding, thermal recovery, and chemical flooding, based on reservoir characteristics.
- Lead the analysis and modeling of reservoir behavior to evaluate the effectiveness of different EOR methods, adjusting parameters to enhance recovery rates.
- Optimize the performance of existing EOR operations, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that the selected methods meet production targets and cost efficiency.

- Analyze reservoir data, including pressure, temperature, fluid properties, and historical production data, to assess the potential for applying EOR techniques.
- Use advanced reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG, Eclipse) to model reservoir behavior under various EOR scenarios, optimizing the use of resources and ensuring the best recovery methods.
- Work with data from field operations, including well logs and sensor data, to refine simulations and improve the accuracy of predictions related to EOR performance.

Pilot Testing and Field Operations:
- Lead pilot testing efforts to evaluate the effectiveness of various EOR methods in the field, ensuring that real-world performance matches simulation predictions.
- Oversee the setup, monitoring, and evaluation of EOR pilot projects, ensuring that they are executed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Provide on-site support during pilot tests, collaborating with field engineers to troubleshoot issues and adjust operational parameters as needed.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

- Strong proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG, Eclipse) and the ability to develop and run reservoir models for EOR applications.
- Experience in the analysis and interpretation of reservoir and production data to evaluate the performance of EOR methods.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in enhanced oil recovery, reservoir engineering, or related fields, with a focus on applying EOR techniques to maximize oil recovery.
- Proven experience in managing EOR projects from design to implementation, including pilot testing, field operations, and system optimization.
Tools and Technologies:
- Expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG, Eclipse, or similar tools).
- Experience with well testing, fluid sampling, and data collection equipment used in EOR field operations.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) to track project progress and manage resources.
