Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Engineering Director – Process Control Systems to lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of advanced control systems across oil & gas facilities. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, safety, and integration of all process automation platforms including DCS, PLCs, SCADA, and APC systems. The ideal candidate brings strategic vision and technical depth to modernize and standardize process control systems across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for process control systems across all operational assets.

  • Oversee the architecture, design, and integration of distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platforms.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in delivering automation solutions for greenfield and brownfield projects.

  • Set global standards for system configuration, documentation, and cybersecurity in control systems.

  • Ensure systems meet compliance requirements under ISA, IEC, API, NFPA, and relevant local regulations.

  • Evaluate and implement advanced process control (APC), real-time optimization, and digital twin technologies.

  • Supervise engineering, commissioning, and support teams throughout project lifecycles.

  • Drive continuous improvement in control system reliability, maintainability, and performance monitoring.

  • Establish governance for change management, version control, and system lifecycle planning.

  • Act as the company’s technical authority and advisor on control systems engineering across the enterprise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or Automation Engineering

  • 18+ years of experience in process control systems in the oil & gas industry

  • Proven leadership experience in engineering management or director-level roles

  • Strong knowledge of DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens, Emerson)

  • Certification in functional safety (e.g., TÜV, IEC 61508/61511) and industrial cybersecurity preferred

  • Experience in large-scale project delivery, including greenfield and brownfield developments

  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
