Job Title: Electromechanical Technician

Job Summary:

The Fresher Electromechanical Technician is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electromechanical systems and equipment. This role provides an opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience working with mechanical systems, electrical circuits, motors, controllers, and automated equipment. The Electromechanical Technician will support senior technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the proper functionality of electromechanical systems, while following safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Setup:

    • Assist in the installation of electromechanical systems and equipment, including motors, controllers, conveyors, and other mechanical and electrical components.
    • Help set up electrical wiring, cabling, and mechanical connections based on system specifications and technical diagrams.
    • Support senior technicians in installing and testing equipment to ensure it is working as intended.
  2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

    • Conduct routine maintenance on electromechanical systems to ensure they are functioning properly and efficiently.
    • Assist in identifying mechanical and electrical faults in equipment and support troubleshooting to determine the cause of failures.
    • Assist in repairing or replacing faulty components, such as motors, relays, sensors, and other electrical or mechanical parts.
  3. System Calibration and Testing:

    • Support the calibration and testing of electromechanical systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
    • Assist in conducting basic tests to measure the performance of electromechanical equipment, checking voltage, current, and mechanical performance.
    • Document testing procedures and results for future reference.
  4. Equipment Inspections:

    • Assist in conducting inspections of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure they are operating within established tolerances.
    • Monitor equipment performance and report any irregularities or malfunctions to senior technicians.
    • Maintain records of inspections and maintenance activities.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
    • Prepare reports on system performance, repairs, and issues encountered, providing them to senior technicians or managers.
    • Assist in documenting procedures, manuals, and maintenance logs for electromechanical systems.
  6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when working with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure personal and team safety.
    • Assist in ensuring that systems and equipment meet regulatory and safety standards.
    • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors, helping ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
  7. Learning and Development:

    • Continuously learn about electromechanical systems, components, and technologies.
    • Stay updated with the latest tools, techniques, and industry standards in electromechanical systems.
    • Participate in training sessions and hands-on learning experiences under the guidance of senior technicians.
  8. Team Collaboration and Support:

    • Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to complete installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
    • Collaborate with other departments as needed to address issues or improve system performance.
    • Provide assistance and support to other team members during projects and daily tasks.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and automation technology.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment such as multimeters, calipers, and wrenches.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with senior technicians and other team members.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with coursework in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Associate's degree or certification in electromechanical technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Power Distribution Networks

  • Understanding the basics of electromechanical systems in power distribution networks.
  • SCADA and PLC Systems

  • Learning to assist in the operation and troubleshooting of SCADA and PLC systems in electromechanical applications.
  • Electrical Safety Standards and Codes (IEC, NEC)

  • Familiarizing with IEC, NEC, and safety protocols for handling electromechanical systems.

Experience:

  • No prior professional experience is required.
  • Internships, academic projects, or personal projects related to electromechanical systems or equipment are advantageous.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as multimeters and insulation resistance testers.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools used in electromechanical assembly and repair.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical design software (e.g., CAD, electrical design software) is beneficial but not required.
