Job Title: Electrical Systems Calibration Technician
Job Summary:
The Fresher Electrical Systems Calibration Technician is responsible for assisting in the calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components in industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environments. This entry-level role offers an opportunity to learn and develop hands-on skills under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems, equipment, and instruments are calibrated to meet the necessary standards of performance, accuracy, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibration Support:
- Assist senior technicians in performing calibration tasks for electrical systems, instruments, and equipment.
- Help calibrate electrical components, including voltage meters, current meters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment to ensure they meet accurate performance specifications.
- Learn to use calibration instruments and tools to measure the performance of electrical systems and identify discrepancies.
System Testing and Performance Verification:
- Assist in testing electrical systems, components, and instrumentation to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
- Verify that calibrated systems provide correct and accurate measurements and meet project specifications.
- Support the testing of equipment after calibration to ensure proper functionality and compliance with operational requirements.
Maintenance of Calibration Equipment:
- Assist in maintaining calibration equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition, calibrated properly, and ready for use.
- Support the cleaning, servicing, and storage of calibration tools and devices to ensure their longevity and accuracy.
- Keep track of calibration equipment usage and assist in ensuring that the tools are regularly calibrated according to the recommended schedule.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document calibration activities, including calibration results, equipment settings, and any issues identified during testing.
- Maintain accurate records of calibration procedures and test results to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Prepare and file calibration reports, including providing feedback on system performance and suggesting improvements when necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all relevant safety protocols while working with electrical systems and calibration tools.
- Ensure that calibration work complies with relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, IEC, NEC).
- Report any safety hazards or risks to senior technicians and take appropriate action to ensure a safe working environment.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously develop knowledge and understanding of electrical calibration techniques, testing procedures, and industry standards.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to expand skills in electrical systems, calibration, and instrumentation.
- Work under the guidance of senior staff to develop expertise in electrical calibration tools, methods, and industry practices.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with senior technicians and other team members to complete calibration tasks and ensure the accuracy of electrical systems.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and ways to improve calibration procedures.
- Provide assistance in troubleshooting electrical systems or equipment that require recalibration or maintenance.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, components, and their calibration.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and measurement tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.
- Basic understanding of electrical safety standards and protocols when working with electrical systems and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and specifications accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Good organizational skills to maintain accurate calibration records and documentation.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
- Relevant coursework or academic projects related to electrical systems, calibration, and testing is a plus.
- Basic certifications or training in electrical systems or calibration practices are advantageous but not required.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required.
- Internships, academic projects, or hands-on experience with electrical systems, testing, or calibration is beneficial but not mandatory.

- Assisting in the calibration of control and monitoring equipment in electrical systems.
Basic Power Distribution Networks
- Supporting the inspection and calibration of components in power distribution systems.
