Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summery:

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing advanced electrical systems for various projects. This role involves leading the development of electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical System Design:

    • Develop detailed designs for electrical systems, including control systems, power distribution networks, and automation.
    • Optimize electrical designs for performance, cost, and energy efficiency.
  2. Power Distribution Networks:

    • Design and analyze complex power distribution systems, including load flow, short circuit, and protection schemes.
    • Ensure reliability and scalability of distribution networks for current and future demands.
  3. SCADA and PLC Systems Integration:

    • Lead the design and integration of SCADA and PLC systems into electrical networks for automation and control.
    • Collaborate with software and automation teams to ensure seamless integration.
  4. Compliance with Electrical Standards:

    • Ensure all designs comply with international and local standards, including IEC, NEC, and other relevant codes.
    • Conduct regular design reviews to confirm adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
  5. Project Management:

    • Oversee electrical design projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
    • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams to align design goals with project objectives.
  6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

    • Incorporate emerging technologies and innovative solutions into electrical designs to enhance system performance.
    • Identify and implement design process improvements for greater efficiency and quality.
  7. Team Leadership and Mentorship:

    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
    • Conduct technical training sessions and encourage professional growth within the team.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and technical reports.
    • Present design proposals and updates to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of technical details.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Electrical Systems Control and Monitoring

  • Leading the design and optimization of advanced electrical control and monitoring systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Power Distribution Networks

  • Designing and managing complex power distribution networks, including load analysis, fault protection, and scalability planning.
  • SCADA and PLC Systems

  • Overseeing the integration and programming of SCADA and PLC systems in electrical designs for seamless automation and control.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  2. Experience:

    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  3. Skills:

    • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools).
    • Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLC systems, and power distribution design principles.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  4. Certifications:

    • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certifications preferred.
    • Relevant certifications in electrical standards or design software are a plus.
