Job Title: Electrical Calibration Engineer
Job Summary:
The Junior Electrical Calibration Engineer is responsible for performing calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical measurement instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers. This role requires technical expertise to execute calibration tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring equipment accuracy and compliance with industry standards. The Junior Engineer plays a vital role in supporting operations by maintaining reliable and precise calibration systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibration and Testing:
- Perform routine calibration of electrical instruments, including voltmeters, ammeters, and frequency counters.
- Test and validate equipment performance against manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Identify and address measurement deviations, reporting findings to senior engineers for corrective actions.
Documentation:
- Record and maintain detailed calibration data and generate certificates for completed calibration tasks.
- Ensure all documentation complies with ISO 17025 and organizational quality management systems.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct preventive maintenance on calibration tools and report equipment malfunctions.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues with electrical devices and measurement systems.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to organizational safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant standards during all calibration activities.
- Ensure calibration processes align with industry standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of calibration processes into larger operational workflows.
- Support senior engineers in audits, inspections, and technical evaluations.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Solid understanding of electrical measurement principles and instrumentation, including voltage, current, and frequency.
- Proficiency in using calibration tools such as multimeters, power meters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Familiarity with calibration standards, such as ISO 17025, and standard operating procedures.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in electrical measurement systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in calibration processes.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certification in electrical calibration or metrology is advantageous.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical calibration or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with calibration tools and electrical measurement equipment is required.
Tools and Equipment:
- Multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power analyzers, and calibration management software.
