The Director of Turbine Engineering for Aerospace Applications will lead the design, development, and innovation of turbine technologies specifically for aerospace propulsion systems. Lead and manage the turbine engineering team focused on aerospace propulsion system design and development.
Define strategic technical roadmaps for turbine technology aligned with company goals and aerospace market demands.
Oversee R&D projects from concept through prototype development, testing, and certification.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including aerodynamicists, materials engineers, manufacturing, and testing to optimize turbine performance and reliability.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Drive innovation in turbine design, materials selection, cooling technologies, and efficiency improvements.
Manage budgets, resource allocation, and timelines for engineering projects.
Represent the company in industry forums, technical conferences, and collaboration with aerospace customers and regulatory bodies.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Identify risks and mitigation strategies in turbine system development and deployment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred).
10+ years of experience in turbine engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within aerospace applications.
Proven expertise in turbine aerodynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, and propulsion systems.
Strong knowledge of aerospace certification processes (FAA, EASA, etc.).
Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Experience with advanced CFD, FEA, and thermal analysis tools.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Experience with additive manufacturing and advanced materials in turbine components.
Familiarity with gas turbine engine control systems and software integration.
