We are seeking a seasoned Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead the HVAC division’s engineering function. This role entails overseeing the design, development, and execution of HVAC mechanical systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The Director will guide engineering teams, ensure technical excellence, drive innovation, and maintain alignment with industry standards and client requirements. Strong leadership and strategic vision are essential to deliver high-quality, cost-effective HVAC solutions.
Lead and develop a high-performing HVAC mechanical engineering team, including engineers, designers, and project leads.
Foster a collaborative environment encouraging innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth.
Manage recruitment, performance reviews, and career development plans.
Oversee all HVAC mechanical system designs, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.).
Review and approve design calculations, equipment selections, and construction documents.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery.
Develop and implement engineering standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
Stay abreast of emerging HVAC technologies, materials, and sustainable design trends.
Promote adoption of energy-efficient designs and innovative HVAC solutions.
Prepare and manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships.
Optimize engineering workflows to improve productivity and cost efficiency.
Serve as the technical lead in client meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations.
Coordinate with other divisions, construction teams, and external consultants to resolve design and construction issues.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
Leadership or project management certifications (e.g., PMP) a plus
12+ years in HVAC mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
Extensive experience in HVAC design for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects
Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit, HAP, TRACE 700)
Strong knowledge of HVAC codes, standards, and sustainable design practices
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
