We are seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance – HVAC Operations to lead and manage the HVAC maintenance function across multiple facilities. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of HVAC systems through strategic planning, team leadership, and implementation of best maintenance practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC systems coupled with proven leadership skills in maintenance operations.
Develop and implement comprehensive HVAC maintenance programs, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
Lead a team of maintenance managers, supervisors, and technicians to achieve operational excellence and system uptime targets.
Establish maintenance KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Oversee daily HVAC maintenance activities across sites, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Manage resource allocation, workforce planning, and vendor relationships to optimize maintenance efficiency.
Coordinate emergency repairs and troubleshoot complex HVAC system failures.
Ensure all HVAC maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Lead safety training, audits, and incident investigations related to HVAC operations.
Develop and manage the HVAC maintenance budget, controlling costs while maintaining high service levels.
Evaluate and approve procurement of maintenance materials, spare parts, and contracted services.
Promote the adoption of maintenance management software (CMMS) and condition monitoring technologies.
Drive initiatives to extend equipment life, improve energy efficiency, and reduce operational downtime.
Report maintenance performance, issues, and improvement plans to senior management.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement departments to align maintenance activities with overall business objectives.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or HVAC-related credentials preferred
10+ years in HVAC maintenance leadership roles, preferably in multi-site or industrial environments
Strong background in HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and controls
Expertise in maintenance planning, CMMS, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM)
Knowledge of HVAC codes, safety regulations, and energy management principles
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive change effectively
