The Director of Logistics โ Industrial Equipment & Maintenance Inventory is responsible for end-to-end logistics strategy, execution, and control of industrial equipment movements and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory across operations, maintenance programs, and capital projects.
This leader ensures that the right parts, tools, spares, and equipment are stored, transported, and delivered efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with procurement, maintenance, engineering, and site operations.
Develop and lead the execution of logistics strategies for critical industrial equipment, heavy machinery, and maintenance parts.
Oversee domestic and international transportation, warehousing, material handling, and site distribution networks.
Manage inbound and outbound logistics for planned shutdowns, turnarounds, and urgent maintenance operations.
Lead strategic planning and control of maintenance inventory, including spare parts, consumables, and critical components (e.g., valves, bearings, filters, tools).
Ensure inventory accuracy, rotation, minimum/maximum levels, and alignment with preventive maintenance schedules.
Implement inventory optimization models, demand planning, and reorder systems for high-availability assets.
Oversee multiple central and regional warehouses, ensuring high standards of safety, material handling, and storage compliance.
Lead deployment of automated inventory systems, barcoding, and WMS tools.
Ensure warehouses are audit-ready and operate per HSE and regulatory standards.
Coordinate movement and delivery of large, heavy, or complex mechanical equipment to project sites or operational plants.
Manage logistics for capital equipment mobilization, demobilization, and temporary storage.
Interface with customs brokers and 3PL providers for compliance and clearance of international shipments.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives in logistics efficiency, cost reduction, and service levels.
Drive adoption of digital logistics platforms, real-time tracking, and KPI dashboards.
Develop logistics playbooks for planned outages, emergency response, and asset criticality prioritization.
Work closely with maintenance, operations, procurement, and engineering teams to align logistics with field needs.
Serve as the single point of contact for logistics strategy and execution across the organization.
Interface with OEMs, service providers, and transport vendors to ensure SLA adherence.
Bachelorโs degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Management (Required)
Masterโs degree or professional certifications (e.g., CLTD, CSCP, PMP) (Preferred)
12โ18 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain roles in industrial, utilities, mining, or energy sectors
Proven track record in MRO inventory and equipment logistics management
Experience managing complex logistics networks and high-value inventory across large sites or project portfolios
