The Director of Fabrication Quality Assurance (Welding & Pressure Equipment) is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance activities related to the fabrication and installation of pressure equipment, piping systems, and welded structures within water treatment facilities. This role ensures that all fabricated components meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on ASME, AWS, API, and local code compliance. The position leads a multidisciplinary QA/QC team and works closely with engineering, fabrication, and field installation teams to uphold product integrity.
Quality Leadership & Compliance
Develop, implement, and enforce QA/QC programs for welding, pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications.
Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards including ASME Section VIII, IX, B31.1/B31.3, AWS D1.1, and API standards.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies governing water treatment infrastructure and pressure equipment.
Welding & Fabrication Oversight
Supervise and audit welding operations, procedure qualifications (WPS/PQR), and welder certifications.
Monitor and validate NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), hydrostatic testing, and dimensional inspections.
Coordinate with internal teams and third-party inspectors to ensure verification and documentation of fabrication quality.
Program Development & Risk Management
Establish and manage continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes in fabrication and assembly areas.
Identify and mitigate fabrication-related risks through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality incident investigations.
Standardize inspection criteria and documentation practices across all fabrication and pressure equipment projects.
Team Leadership & Training
Lead and mentor QA/QC personnel including welding inspectors, NDT technicians, and quality engineers.
Deliver training and guidance on code compliance, inspection techniques, and welding quality best practices.
Cultivate a safety- and quality-first culture throughout fabrication and installation operations.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline
Advanced certifications preferred (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector – CWI, ASME Authorized Inspector – AI, API 510/570)
Experience:
10–15 years of experience in welding QA/QC, pressure equipment fabrication, or water/industrial infrastructure projects
Deep understanding of welding procedures, pressure boundary equipment, NDE/NDT methods, and inspection documentation
Skills:
