Job Title: Junior Data Warehouse Analyst
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Junior Data Warehouse Analyst to support the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SQL, ETL processes, data modeling, and reporting tools. This role involves managing large datasets, optimizing query performance, and ensuring data accuracy to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction and analysis
- Design, implement, and maintain data warehouse structures (fact & dimension tables, star & snowflake schemas)
- Assist in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration and cleansing
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security within the data warehouse environment
- Support performance tuning and optimization of large-scale queries and data pipelines
- Work with BI and reporting tools to create dashboards and reports for business users
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand and fulfill data requirements
- Document data warehouse schemas, ETL processes, and best practices
- Stay updated with cloud-based data warehouse solutions, big data trends, and data management tools
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Proficiency in SQL and database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
- Experience with data warehouse concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, fact & dimension tables)
- Familiarity with ETL tools (Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, SSIS, Pentaho)
- Basic knowledge of cloud data warehouses (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure Synapse)
- Hands-on experience with BI and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Understanding of data normalization, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of data security best practices (encryption, access control)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab)
- Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for data automation (optional)
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- Certifications in SQL, Data Warehousing, Cloud Databases, or BI Tools are a plus
Experience:
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in data warehousing, SQL development, or ETL processes
- Experience in handling structured and semi-structured data, database performance tuning, and reporting
