Job Title: Data Migration Specialist
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Fresher - Data Migration Specialist to assist in data extraction, transformation, and migration across different database systems. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of SQL, ETL processes, data mapping, and data quality management. This role involves migrating data between systems, ensuring data integrity, and troubleshooting migration issues while collaborating with IT and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for data migration projects
- Support the mapping and validation of data between source and target systems
- Write basic SQL queries for data retrieval, cleansing, and validation
- Assist in data integrity checks, deduplication, and transformation rules
- Work with data analysts and developers to ensure accurate and efficient data migration
- Learn and support data migration tools and techniques
- Assist in testing and verifying migrated data to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Document data migration processes, issues, and resolutions
- Stay updated on data migration best practices, security, and compliance guidelines
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
- Understanding of data structures, normalization, and data mapping techniques
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and data migration tools (Talend, Apache NiFi, SSIS, Informatica) (optional)
- Basic knowledge of data validation and cleansing techniques
- Exposure to database management, backup, and recovery processes
- Familiarity with data security and compliance principles (GDPR, HIPAA) (a plus)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- Certifications in SQL, ETL, or Data Migration are a plus
Experience:
- 0-1 year of experience in data migration, database management, or ETL processes
- Academic projects, internships, or hands-on experience with data migration tools or SQL scripting preferred
