Job Summary
A Junior Cybersecurity Specialist assists with implementing and monitoring security measures to protect an organization’s networks and systems. This entry-level role provides support in securing systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and mitigating potential threats under the guidance of senior cybersecurity professionals. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and a keen interest in developing their skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring security alerts, analyzing network traffic, and responding to security incidents.
- Help in the implementation of firewalls, anti-virus software, and other security measures to safeguard organizational assets.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and assist in patch management to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Assist in security audits and create detailed reports on potential risks and threats to inform management decisions.
- Help configure and manage security devices, systems, and software to maintain optimal security posture.
- Perform regular system scans and threat hunting to identify potential vulnerabilities and address them proactively.

Skills and Knowledge Required
- Basic understanding of networking protocols, security architectures, and encryption methods.

- Ability to work with security-related frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, etc.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and basic command-line operations.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate (CCCA) are a plus.
