Job Title: Cryogenic Turbine Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Cryogenic Turbine Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will work on complex design, analysis, and optimization projects involving turbine systems operating at cryogenic temperatures. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and take on greater responsibility in system integration and performance validation, while contributing to innovative solutions in cryogenic applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Analysis:

  • Develop and refine turbine designs for cryogenic applications using advanced CAD and simulation tools.
  • Perform detailed thermal and structural analyses, load calculations, and efficiency assessments to optimize turbine performance at low temperatures.
  • Evaluate simulation results and test data to propose design improvements and innovative solutions.

System Integration & Testing:

  • Oversee the integration of turbine components with cryogenic systems, ensuring optimal thermal insulation and material compatibility.
  • Lead testing and commissioning efforts, including performance validation under cryogenic conditions.
  • Troubleshoot integration and performance issues, recommending corrective actions based on data-driven insights.

Project Management & Documentation:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, thermal, and materials engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, design reports, and performance analysis summaries.
  • Document design iterations, test procedures, and results, ensuring clarity for future projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Research & Innovation:

  • Contribute to research initiatives aimed at improving turbine efficiency and reliability in cryogenic environments.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, integrating new concepts into ongoing projects.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations for innovative process improvements.

Collaboration & Mentorship:

  • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure project milestones and performance targets are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers by sharing technical knowledge and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and brainstorming sessions to foster a collaborative environment.

  • Advanced Design Optimization: Enhance turbine designs through rigorous analysis and innovative modifications tailored to cryogenic operations.
  • System Integration & Testing: Ensure robust integration and reliable performance through comprehensive testing and validation processes.
  • Innovation in Cryogenic Applications: Drive research and development efforts to address unique challenges in low-temperature turbine operation.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior team members while collaborating with senior engineers to achieve project objectives.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain detailed records and continuously refine design methodologies for improved efficiency and performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Cryogenics, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework or projects in turbine systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or cryogenic applications.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in turbine system design, analysis, or integration, with a focus on cryogenic applications preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced CAD and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks, MATLAB).
  • Proven ability to lead testing and commissioning activities in a cryogenic environment.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in thermal analysis, load calculations, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capability to mentor junior engineers and contribute innovative ideas to technical projects.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Relevant industry certifications or training in cryogenic systems, turbine technology, or energy management are advantageous.
