The Senior Control Valve and Pneumatic Systems Technician leads the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and optimization of pneumatic control systems and valves for high-reliability test, industrial, or operational environments. This role ensures technical accuracy, drives system improvements, mentors junior technicians, and plays a critical role in ensuring uptime, safety, and precision of control and actuation systems.
Expert Installation & Calibration:
Lead the installation, configuration, and fine-tuning of complex pneumatic control valves, actuators, and related instrumentation.
Advanced Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve complex issues in valve control loops, positioners, actuators, I/P converters, air supply systems, and pneumatic circuits.
System Optimization:
Evaluate pneumatic system performance and recommend upgrades, modifications, or tuning adjustments for improved response and reliability.
Technical Mentorship:
Provide guidance and training to junior and mid-level technicians on best practices, safety procedures, and advanced diagnostics.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain high-quality calibration and installation records, support audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISA, ASME, API).
Interface with Engineering Teams:
Collaborate closely with process, mechanical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure valves and pneumatic systems meet design intent and operational goals.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Leadership:
Oversee the development and execution of PM programs for control valves, actuators, and air systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Commissioning & Test Support:
Serve as the technical lead during system commissioning, pre-operational checkouts, and integrated functional testing of pneumatic systems.
System Reliability & Performance:
Ensure control valves and pneumatic components operate at peak efficiency and respond accurately under all load and environmental conditions.
Leadership & Technical Authority:
Act as a go-to expert for complex valve and pneumatic system challenges, and lead technician teams through execution.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA):
Lead or participate in root cause investigations for valve system failures, recurring pneumatic faults, or test interruptions.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement enhancements in valve specification, installation techniques, pneumatic layout design, and preventive maintenance strategies.
Operational Safety & Standards Compliance:
Ensure systems are safe to operate, comply with all applicable regulatory codes, and are aligned with plant/test facility standards.
