The Control Valve Technician (Mid-Level) is responsible for the maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing of control and isolation valves, particularly those used in dosing systems and critical process lines. The role involves performing field inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and actuator faults, and ensuring that valve performance meets operational and safety standards.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of control valves (globe, diaphragm, butterfly, ball valves) and isolation valves in dosing, utility, and process systems.
Perform dismantling, inspection, replacement of internal components (seats, seals, diaphragms, stems), and reassembly as per OEM guidelines.
Calibrate valve positioners, actuators (pneumatic/electric), limit switches, and feedback loops.
Diagnose valve issues such as leakage, stiction, improper stroking, or pressure drops and apply corrective actions.
Execute valve stroke checks, bench testing, seat leak testing, and tight shut-off verification.
Interpret P&IDs, valve data sheets, hook-up drawings, and loop diagrams for proper installation and integration.
Coordinate with instrument and process teams during shutdowns and commissioning phases.
Maintain records of valve history, test results, and repair reports in CMMS or logbooks.
Ensure safe execution of tasks by applying LOTO procedures and following all HSE protocols.
Assist in mentoring junior technicians and support training initiatives when needed.
