We are seeking an experienced and disciplined Control Room Manager to oversee all operational activities within the control room of a power generation facility. This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant through centralized monitoring and control of generation equipment, electrical systems, and process parameters. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in power plant operations and proven leadership capabilities in managing control room teams and plant performance under real-time conditions.
Manage 24/7 control room operations for the power generation facility, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability.
Supervise a team of control room operators, shift supervisors, and support personnel, ensuring effective handovers and performance.
Monitor and control generation systems including turbines, generators, switchgear, and auxiliary equipment using DCS/SCADA platforms.
Implement and enforce operational procedures and emergency response protocols.
Coordinate with field operations, maintenance, electrical, and engineering teams to resolve alarms, faults, and performance deviations.
Ensure operational compliance with grid codes, environmental permits, and safety regulations.
Review and analyze plant performance reports, alarms, and downtime events to drive continuous improvement.
Lead training, competency assurance, and certification programs for all control room personnel.
Maintain incident logs, shift reports, and operational records for audit readiness.
Participate in plant start-ups, shutdowns, and major testing or maintenance events.
Centralized Control of Power Generation Assets
DCS/SCADA Operations (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Emerson, GE)
Alarm Management and Real-Time Troubleshooting
Electrical Switching and Load Management Coordination
Operational Compliance (HSE, Grid Codes, NERC/ISO if applicable)
Emergency Procedures and Black Start Readiness
Shift Leadership and Operator Training
Root Cause Analysis and Reporting
Interfacing with Dispatch, Grid Control, and Maintenance Teams
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Power Engineering (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience in power plant operations, with 3–5 years in a supervisory/control room management role
Deep knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems and operational control philosophy
Familiarity with thermal, combined cycle, hydro, or renewable energy plants
Understanding of plant safety systems, grid interactions, and permit-to-work systems
Strong leadership, decision-making, and crisis management abilities
Excellent communication and documentation skills
