To assist in the routine monitoring and early detection of mechanical faults in plant equipment using condition monitoring techniques. This role supports the predictive maintenance program by collecting data, performing basic analysis, and ensuring timely reporting of abnormal equipment behavior.
Routine Condition Monitoring
Conduct daily/weekly vibration, temperature, and noise level checks on rotating machinery.
Assist in oil sampling and basic lubrication analysis.
Data Collection & Entry
Accurately collect field data using handheld condition monitoring instruments.
Enter collected data into the monitoring software or log sheets.
Preliminary Fault Identification
Identify and report basic anomalies such as unusual noise, overheating, vibration changes, or visible defects.
Escalate abnormal readings to the senior technician or engineer.
Tool Handling & Maintenance
Use condition monitoring tools such as vibration meters, IR thermometers, ultrasonic detectors, etc.
Maintain proper handling and storage of monitoring equipment.
Equipment Inspection
Assist in basic visual and manual inspection of pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, and fans.
Participate in inspections during plant shutdowns or after major maintenance.
Support for Predictive Maintenance
Provide support to the predictive maintenance team by sharing insights and helping plan corrective actions.
Help correlate monitoring data with field observations.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain inspection reports, checklists, and machine condition logs.
Communicate findings to supervisors in a timely and structured manner.
