Job Summary
A Junior Cloud Systems Administrator is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the management, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in managing cloud environments and supporting senior administrators in day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Support: Assist in managing cloud-based systems and virtualized environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- System Monitoring: Monitor cloud resources and services to ensure high availability and performance, identifying potential issues before they impact operations.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Provide first-level troubleshooting support for cloud system issues and assist with incident resolution, escalating complex problems to senior staff as needed.
- Cloud Deployment: Help in deploying cloud services, configuring instances, and managing storage solutions across platforms such as AWS EC2, Azure VMs, and GCP Compute Engine.
- Backup and Recovery: Assist in backing up cloud resources and ensuring disaster recovery plans are followed, maintaining data integrity and availability.
- Documentation: Document system configurations, incidents, and solutions to enhance knowledge-sharing across the team and support future troubleshooting efforts.
- Learning and Development: Participate in training programs to develop skills in cloud administration and earn relevant certifications to further enhance professional growth.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Basic Cloud Knowledge: Understanding of cloud computing concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Operating Systems: Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration.
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Networking Basics: Understanding of virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, and load balancing in the cloud.
- Scripting: Basic scripting skills for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
- Security Awareness: Awareness of cloud security concepts such as encryption and IAM (Identity Access Management).
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
