We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mid-Level Chiller Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on chiller systems with increased autonomy. Ideal candidates will have prior hands-on experience in refrigeration or HVAC systems and a proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Chiller Installation & Commissioning:
• Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of chiller systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with senior mechanics to verify system performance during initial setup and commissioning phases.
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs:
• Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of chiller components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in chiller systems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Independently execute repair work, including the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of chiller components, while ensuring minimal downtime.
Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations during maintenance and repair activities.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Participate in safety audits and training sessions to uphold a culture of safety and quality.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and service logs.
• Assist in updating maintenance logs and preparing reports on system performance and reliability.
• Communicate technical issues and corrective actions to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Professional Development & Team Collaboration:
• Mentor junior technicians by sharing best practices and technical insights.
• Stay current with advancements in chiller technology and participate in professional development programs.
• Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team to optimize repair procedures and enhance system performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in refrigeration, HVAC technology, or related fields is preferred.
• A solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to chiller operations.
Experience:
• 3-6 years of hands-on experience in chiller maintenance, refrigeration, or HVAC systems.
• Proven track record of diagnosing and repairing chiller system issues independently.
Skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive approach to maintaining safety standards and continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
Certifications (Preferred):
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) are an advantage.
• Additional certifications in refrigeration or HVAC maintenance are beneficial but not mandatory.
