Job Title: Chief Supply Chain Officer – Engineering & Industrial Components

Job Summary

The Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) for Engineering & Industrial Components will lead and manage the complete supply chain function for our company’s operations, particularly in the mechanical engineering and industrial components sector, focusing on valves. This strategic leadership role involves overseeing the procurement, logistics, production planning, inventory management, and distribution of engineering components related to valves and related industrial products. The CSCO will work closely with senior leadership to define long-term supply chain strategy, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure alignment with corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies to support the company’s overall business objectives, specifically in the engineering and industrial components domain, with an emphasis on valves and related products.

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, and logistics operations.

  • Optimize supply chain operations, ensuring cost-effective and efficient processes while maintaining product quality and timely delivery schedules.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, logistics partners, and internal teams.

  • Lead the development of global sourcing strategies for critical materials related to valve production and other mechanical engineering components.

  • Collaborate with the senior management team to align supply chain strategies with corporate goals, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.

Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization

  • Implement supply chain best practices to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs across the entire value chain.

  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives to enhance data analytics, forecasting, and inventory management systems.

  • Conduct regular supply chain performance reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, logistics partners, and third-party providers to ensure competitive pricing and optimal terms for valve and component procurement.

  • Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring the right balance between stock availability and cost efficiency.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks, including those related to supply disruptions, logistics issues, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations related to valve production, transportation, and distribution.

  • Monitor and manage any geopolitical or market risks that could impact supply chain continuity.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, including procurement, logistics, and operations professionals.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain department, ensuring that all team members are aligned with strategic goals.

  • Mentor and coach senior managers and staff to enhance their professional growth and technical expertise in supply chain management.

  • Manage the budget for the supply chain function, ensuring resource allocation is in line with strategic priorities.

Technology & Innovation

  • Stay abreast of emerging supply chain technologies and trends, incorporating advancements that improve operational efficiency and create competitive advantage.

  • Lead the implementation of supply chain management software and tools that support real-time tracking, automated reporting, and predictive analytics, with a focus on valve inventory management and logistics.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by improving delivery times, reducing costs, and enhancing the quality of service for industrial clients.

  • Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding supply chain matters, ensuring seamless coordination across departments, including engineering, manufacturing, and sales.

  • Provide strategic input to sales and marketing teams for product demand forecasting and pricing strategies.


Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, including 5+ years at the executive or senior leadership level, preferably in the engineering, industrial components, or mechanical systems industries.

  • Proven experience in managing global supply chains, particularly in sectors related to valve manufacturing, mechanical components, or industrial products.

Key Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and procurement processes, particularly in the mechanical engineering and valve industries.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.

  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost optimization.

  • Solid understanding of inventory management, demand planning, and product lifecycle management.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of interacting with senior executives, suppliers, and internal teams.

  • Familiarity with supply chain technologies (ERP systems, predictive analytics, automated inventory management, etc.).

  • Experience with risk management and regulatory compliance in supply chain operations.
