We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering function focused on utilities and fabrication projects within the water treatment sector. This executive-level role oversees design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment critical to water treatment plants and associated utilities, ensuring project delivery, technical excellence, and operational reliability.
Strategic Leadership & Project Oversight
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for all mechanical engineering aspects related to utilities (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, steam, pumps) and fabrication projects within water treatment facilities.
Oversee large-scale fabrication and construction projects including specification development, design reviews, procurement support, and quality assurance.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
Engineering Design & Compliance
Lead the mechanical design and engineering of utility systems, pipework, structural supports, and equipment installation.
Ensure all mechanical designs comply with applicable codes, standards (ASME, ANSI, API), and environmental regulations.
Approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, and fabrication documentation.
Operations & Maintenance Support
Collaborate with plant operations and maintenance teams to optimize mechanical system performance and reliability.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies for mechanical assets within utilities and fabrication domains.
Analyze failure modes and support root cause investigations.
Team Development & Stakeholder Engagement
Mentor and develop engineering staff and project managers, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Communicate effectively with senior management, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on project status and technical matters.
Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies relevant to water treatment mechanical systems.

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
Experience:
10+ years in mechanical engineering with a focus on utilities, fabrication, or heavy industrial projects
Proven experience managing large-scale water treatment or utility infrastructure projects
Strong background in mechanical systems design, fabrication processes, and project management
Skills:
Expertise in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CAESAR II, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, OSHA)
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects
