We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Chief Automation Officer (CAO) to lead the digital and automation strategy across our power generation assets. This executive role is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing end-to-end automation systems—ensuring optimal plant performance, safety, and sustainability through advanced technologies such as DCS, SCADA, predictive analytics, and intelligent control systems. The CAO will oversee modernization, digital transformation, and innovation initiatives across thermal, hydro, gas, and renewable energy plants.
Develop and execute a comprehensive automation and digitalization strategy for all power generation facilities.
Oversee architecture, deployment, and lifecycle of control systems including DCS, PLC, SCADA, and protection systems.
Drive the integration of real-time monitoring, remote control, and AI-based optimization tools for predictive and autonomous operations.
Lead transformation initiatives including smart grids, digital twins, IIoT platforms, and centralized operation centers.
Ensure regulatory, cybersecurity (IEC 62443, NERC CIP), and functional safety (IEC 61511/61508) compliance.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align automation strategy with corporate performance, reliability, and ESG targets.
Manage capital automation projects and budgets across multiple facilities and geographies.
Establish technical standards, vendor qualification frameworks, and centralized governance of automation infrastructure.
Represent the company in regulatory, industry, and technology forums.
Build, lead, and mentor high-performance automation teams across the organization.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Engineering (PhD preferred)
20+ years of experience in automation/control systems in the power generation or energy sector, including 5+ years in executive leadership
Proven expertise in large-scale DCS/SCADA architectures (e.g., ABB, Siemens, GE, Schneider Electric, Emerson)
Experience with real-time analytics, cloud SCADA, and smart grid technologies
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, OT cybersecurity, and asset reliability practices
Leadership in capital project execution, budget management, and vendor governance
Certifications in Functional Safety, Cybersecurity (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443), and Project/Program Management are advantageous
